Hello,
On my laptop, a fingerprint reader is available and working on windows.
I was not able to identify it on my archlinux installation.
Any help please ?

Hi, your sensor doesn't seem to be a PCI or USB device. It's an SPI (serial peripheral interface) device accessible via ACPI. If you run
cat /sys/bus/acpi/devices/*/path | grep "\.SPI\|\.FPNT", you will most probably see something like
\_SB_.PCI0.SPI1.FPNTThat's your fingerprint reader device. You might get more info from dmesg (or maybe not). I don't think there's a Linux driver for this class of devices.
In my opinion trying to make it work is not worth the effort. The Linux fprintd fingerprint reader daemon is not really good in verifying fingerprints and pam.d integration sucks. Even if you manage to make the sensor to work, the user experience would be rather frustrating.
