I am trying to set up a gaming VM on KVM on top of a arch linux hypervisor. I am 90% of the way there but I am stuck at the last hurdle
So far,I have followed this guide to get PCI passthrough working as root, which was successful. However, I don't really want to be running as root. So I followed this guide and various forum posts to try and get it running as a non-root user. The final problem I have is this:
[rmadmin@Tesla ~]$ virsh create win_full.xml
error: Failed to create domain from win_full.xml
error: Failed to open config space file '/sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/config': Permission denied
[rmadmin@Tesla ~]$ ls -la /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:01\:00.0/config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Sep 9 00:53 /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:01:00.0/config

Obviously if I manually change the permissions of the relevant files it seems to work fine but this will reset on boot, so I was wondering if there is a way to make my user a permanent owner of this device.
Let me know if you need any further information and thanks in advance
