Alacarte cannot enable Evince's menu entry

Nothing happens when I try to add Evince to the Gnome menu using Alacarte - the checkbox stays empty no matter how many times I click it. Other items can be added to or removed from the menu without a problem.

Same problem here. I am also unable to move items between menus or change their icons. Can this have something to do with /opt/gnome vs. /usr ??

You have to type in terminal:

sudo chown -R user_name /home/user_name/.local/share
