errr

Its Mustek 1200 UB scanner

lsusb

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1131:1001 Integrated System Solution Corp.
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

I need to configure gt68xx.conf

got sbfw.usb in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx off of Scanner CD

Is there a way of testing if udev has picked up scanner?

sane-find-scanner

  # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
  # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.
  # Also you need support for SCSI Generic (sg) in your operating system.
  # If using Linux, try "modprobe sg".

scanimage -L

 scanimage -L
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

Re: scanner is back now! [Solved]

Do you run "sane-find-scanner" and "scanimage -L" as root?
Have you added yourself to the "scanner" group?
I know, naive questions... tongue

Re: scanner is back now! [Solved]

Got it now....

put SBfw.usb in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx

edit /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf remove '#' from line....

override "mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus"

errr does state you should not need to do that but it works now
