I'm using a laptop Alienware 15R2, and I just can't get to use an extern microphone, the input is always the built-in one
My laptop has 2 jack slots (mic and headphones) so I bought a headset with split plugs.
The headphones work just fine,
But no matter what I do, I cannot get to use the headset microphone, even tho on my desktop it is displayed that I'm using extern mic, and even tho I select it via alsamixer, my laptop keeps using the intern microphone
( I can know which mic is active by slightly hitting it with my finger and seeing when it registers noices).
Here are some outputs ( sorry If I don't know what outputs to provide, It will be really helpful if anyone could tell me which one to paste next):
$ arecord -l
