[SOLVED] waiting for UUID

I have Arch loaded on an external SSD, and use it to boot a laptop with an inferior OS installed on it.
It has worked well for a long time, but the last two kernel updates 4.18.11 and 4.18.12 will not boot for me.

It says something about waiting for <UUID number> (which btw is the correct number for my root partition.)
After a short delay it fails and drops to a shell prompt.

But when i downgrade my kernel to 4.18.10 the problem goes away.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue, or knows of a fix.

thanks

Re: [SOLVED] waiting for UUID

It can be related to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/60272 . Did you tried to boot from fallback initramfs image?
