I tried to do an update today with pacman -Syu and got this error:
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: unable to satisfy dependency 'libx265.so=160-64' required by ffmpeg
So For the heck of it I forced it to do an update and it installed:
ffmpeg-1:4.0.2-4 gst-plugins-bad-1.14.4-2 libheif-1.3.2-2 x265-2.9-1
I tried to run ffmpeg and mpv with the --version switch:
[ray@arch lib]$ ffmpeg --version
ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libx265.so.160: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory[ray@arch lib]$ mpv --version
mpv: error while loading shared libraries: libx265.so.160: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It looks like they updated x265 but did not compile ffmpeg or mpv with it even though ffmpeg did go through an update:
[ray@arch lib]$ ls -lah libx265*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Oct 8 02:59 libx265.so -> libx265.so.165
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 20M Oct 8 02:59 libx265.so.165
I have no idea how this might affect gst-plugins-bad or libheif as I do not use any programs with them that I know of.

already solved, see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/60349
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Thanks for the link. I see that they closed the ticket and said fixed but until I am able to see some new updates and run ffmpeg and mpv I am going to down grade x265 here and wait for something that lets me run my programs.
