[SOLVED] "Updating the appstream cache..." hook fails

I just ran pacman -Syu this morning, and pulled in a bunch of KDE-related upgrades (mostly 5.14.0-1 -> 5.14.1-1), plus a few other things. However, one of the hooks appears to have failed.

(4/6) Updating the appstream cache...

(appstreamcli:12974): GLib-CRITICAL **: 07:58:53.515: g_variant_builder_end: assertion '!GVSB(builder)->uniform_item_types || GVSB(builder)->prev_item_type != NULL || g_variant_type_is_definite (GVSB(builder)->type)' failed

(appstreamcli:12974): GLib-CRITICAL **: 07:58:53.516: g_variant_new_variant: assertion 'value != NULL' failed

(appstreamcli:12974): GLib-ERROR **: 07:58:53.516: g_variant_new_parsed: 11-13:invalid GVariant format string
error: command terminated by signal 5: Trace/breakpoint trap

What does that mean? Should/can I fix it? Should I file a bug?
