Hello!
I am refering to the new Lenovo Thinkpad P1 Mobile Workstation.
I have the problem that I can not switch off the discrete gpu (eGPU) and use the internal gpu (iGPU) instead. Therefore, the eGPU always controls the Laptop's display (tty's are already running on the eGPU).
My BIOS version: 1.10
My OS: Arch Linux 64-Bit, latest version
lspci | grep VGA output:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 3e9b
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107GLM [Quadro P1000 Mobile] (rev a1)
What I did:
I entered the BIOS -> Config -> Display menu and switched to "Hybrid Graphics".
Then, I blacklisted the nouveau driver and rebooted.
What I expected:
I expected a normal boot where the tty is already running over the iGPU.
What actually happened:
I was unable to see the tty, as the eGPU was still being used and I did not load any driver for it.

Try installing bbswitch and following https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/bb … rd-on-boot to disable the card on boot. (;
