[SOLVED] Can play videos through sftp via thunar; but not dolphin

I'm trying to play videos through an sftp connection via dolphin; but they won't play; and I'm not sure why. In thunar they play just fine; so I don't know why dolphin won't do it.

Because thunar uses gvfs, while dolphin uses kio which requires the file to be completely downloaded.
Mounting a network share via sshfs or via sshfs+autofs is your best option imho.
