I've been trying to upload my AUR package changes with no luck. This is my first attempt, and I've followed the wiki exactly, but to no success. I seriously am stuck. I did a "git clone" of the AUR package repository, and that worked fine. The wiki says "if you have already created a git repository, you can simply create a remote for the AUR git repository and then fetch it".
Does this mean I have to create a repository on my own github account for this package? Its not being very specific. When I try to add a remote, I get the following error:
fatal: not a git repository (or any parent up to mount point /)
Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set)
I've tried to look for youtube videos on how to upload package changes to the AUR, with no results. I've read the wiki, and I can't figure it out. Could someone please walk this poor soul through this? I have many PKGBUILDS and packages I can contribute, but I'm stuck.
I followed the wiki to set up everything else (setting my public key and private SSH keys), and I've uploaded my public key to my AUR profile, but now I'm stuck at SSHing the package changes to the AUR repository.

The wiki says "if you have already created a git repository..."

What? No. It says git repository, not github account. Git is a version control system; github is a website that just happens to host some git repos.
To create a git repository you just run `git init`. But more importantly, that sentence from the wiki was a conditional: "if you have alreay ..." and you have not, so don't try to follow the rest of that sentence.
Please show the exact commands you are using and their complete output.

Nevermind, I figured it out.
So I did a "git clone" of the old files, then deleted them, and copied over the new files into that same directory, and I wasn't recieving any errors. I was trying to "git add" the files from a different directory than the actual directory I did a "git clone" from. Simple mistake. I now understand how this works.

Quick question, how do I remove old files from the repository from a previous owner? I don't see anything on the AUR wiki about that.

Nevermind, I looked at the git man page. It's "git rm".
