Hi folks, i just installed steam.

i wanted to run it this way : primusrun steam, this is the output i get :

/home/d3l26077/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: 823: /home/d3l26077/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh: File or Directory not found

can anybody tell me how to fix this ?

Re: Installing Steam

This happened to me a few days ago, turns out that steam had failed to launch previously and there were some background instances preventing steam to finish copying all files.

What I did was to solve what caused the steam script to crash in the first place (installed lib32-libgpg-error from multilib and lib32-nvidia-utils ), then killed all steam processes (there were a few hanging in the background, check with ps ax|grep steam), then deleted the steam folder (~/.local/share/Steam) and run the steam runtime again.

After that, run.sh was there and steam ran normally.

Edit: As for the ubuntu libs, steam runs a script that pulls several libraries compiled for ubuntu, this is in order to provide a common runtime that is more or less compatible in all platforms it runs. It does the same on Fedora, and in any other distro.

Re: Installing Steam

Make sure the conditions in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Steam#Installation are met.

You might also want to install steam-native-runtime as that will set up a baseline of potentially necessary libraries (and add a command to run without explicitly using the steam runtime - steam-native , which can work better for any given situation depending on what you intend to play)
