[SOLVED] socks5 not supported or disabled in libcurl

Is their a separate package to enable socks5 for curl on the command line? For example, I am running

curl -x --proxy socks5://username:password@proxyhost.com:1080 http://www.google.com

and get the following error

curl: (1) Protocol "socks5" not supported or disabled in libcurl
curl: (5) Could not resolve proxy: --proxy

Do you get the same error if you don't call the --proxy option twice?

curl -x socks5://username:password@proxyhost.com:1080 http://www.google.com

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
