Hey.
I am an Arch user only since yesterday. Up to now I am quite satisfied: coming from the gentoo world, I think that Arch is actually simple (as advertised), although not simplistic.
So I have managed to sort out the few issues I had up to know. Right now I am recompiling my kernel (with every possible optimizations of course... and then it will be the turn of the whole system, from scratch of course).
But just a little question for my first post: is it possible to have an http repository ? I'd really like to avoid all the ftp logins, which I think time-wasting.
Thanks.

So you haven't really left Gentoo then?

There are some already - have a look through /etc/pacman.d/*. Move the http entries to the top of their respective lists. Also, the heanet mirror works with either http or ftp, although it's ftp by default.

Well I must confess... No

Yeah actually I hadn't had a close look at those files: I saw a lot of ftps, so I thought there were only such reps.
Thank you.
