Ecryptfs folder gone after appending asterisk'

Hello, I have renamed a folder in a mounted ecryptfs volume via appending three asterisks' (***) at its end. Immediately, it disappeared. It is not hidden in the usual way, neither Dolphin’s hidden files view nor ls -a are showing it. But there is more: Any new file or folder I create in this folder is disappearing now. BUT when I want to create a file or folder with the same name, it does already exist.
Is there any strange ecryptfs function I have triggered or is this just a disastrous bug…?

Re: Ecryptfs folder gone after appending asterisk'

Renamed how? With `mv` or through some graphical utility. What does `ls -la` report for the directory, or other coreutils show? Run `stat` on the hidden file.

Moving to NC...

Re: Ecryptfs folder gone after appending asterisk'

I have renamed the folder using Dolphin. Just a regular rename.
"ls -la" does not list it. And it does not list the newly created files and folders. But stat does tell me this for one of them:

$ stat Test
  Datei: Test
  Größe: 2 Blöcke: 24 EA Block: 4096 reguläre Datei
Gerät: 3ch/60d  Inode: 189455      Verknüpfungen: 1
Zugriff: (0644/-rw-r--r--)  Uid: ( 1000/user)   Gid: (  100/   users)

I’m actually not quite that firm in cli file utilities. I have a backup of this ecryptfs volume but I would prefer to understand what went wrong here. It really feels like a bug in ecryptfs. Dolphin is just handling mounted volumes like any other folder.
