Kde plasma is working with delays after update

Hello,

Today I've updated my Kde to the latest version, and after that strange delays are occurring. Any application or shell hangs for a few seconds and is completely not responding. It's very frustrating, I can barely work.

I've noticed in system monitor that baloo_file_extractor is taking up to 100% of one core every few seconds. I suppose that these delays are caused by Baloo waking up and starting indexing.

I will be grateful for any help to fix those delays.

"Today's update" is meaningless in a rolling release context. Please provide version numbers and actual details of your setup.

I might have had the same problem.
My solution is to disable balooctl, "balooctl distable". It is work for me.

Please provide version numbers and actual details of your setup.

Which details are you interested in? The version of plasma is 5.14.3-1

I might have had the same problem.
My solution is to disable balooctl, "balooctl distable". It is work for me.

Thanks for suggestion. However I would like not to disable baloo unless I can't solve it other way.

I have the same problem, and also the index file in ~/.local/share/baloo/ seems to be getting bigger and bigger (now it's 16GB).
I tried deleting it and restarting baloo, but at reboot it happens again. I have disabled it for now.
Baloo is version 5.52.0-1 from extra.
