[Solved] Strange unicode problem

Hey everyone, I have been working on an OCR program using Tesseract to do the actual OCR part.  The output was working great and I was actually putting finishing touches on it but now all of my ouputs are giving me strange characters and I cant figure out why.  Ordinarily I would say this is an issue with tesseract except I have tried it on my other arch laptop and I don't get the same strange character output, it works as expected.  This leads me to believe I have botched something in my locale or font or something.

The pictures are all four line address blocks and tesseract reads the four lines correctly but the ouptut adds a 5th line with a 000c inside a box, I cant seem to paste it into the forum.

looks like this but inside a box and small inside gedit;
00
0C

If I use nano to view the file it shows up as ^L

No idea what that is or why it shows up at the bottom of each picture tesseract scans?

Other then a recent update not much has changed, and like I said my non work arch laptop does not have the issue, everything works as expected on that machine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Re: [Solved] Strange unicode problem

This is an issue with tesseract my other machine was not updated, once the I updated it now has the same problem.

This is an issue with the newest version of tesseract.

I will mark the thread as solved.
