[SOLVED] GNOME sound controls do not work

I cannot  change the volume, or any other sound settings using the gnome tool. I can, however, use alsamixer.

This is what my sound settings looks like:

Re: [SOLVED] GNOME sound controls do not work

Has it ever worked, or is this a new development?
Please post the output of
find /etc/systemd
uname -a
and of
pacman -Q linux   (Assuming you are using the stock kernel)

Re: [SOLVED] GNOME sound controls do not work

Afaik that tool hardlinks pulse and if you don't use pulse this will basically be useless. Pulse seems to be installed, is it properly starting? What's the output of

systemctl --user status pulseaudio
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*

do you get any output from running the settings in a terminal? If necessary maybe run a strace on it

Re: [SOLVED] GNOME sound controls do not work

Resetting pulse fixed it. (as described in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … up_failed)

Thank you very much.
