[SOLVED] Steam crash dump

Hello everyone,

I use ArchLinux xfce since almost 2 years, I get no problem with the steam client before friday. He crash dump !

I try :
- downgrade lib32-nvidia-utils ...
- Reset / reinstall steam client
- Use lts kernel

But still not working

Have you switched to the Matcha dark sea theme recently? Try switching to a different GTK2 theme.

I use Matcha dark sea since long time.
I tried this JGD Black https://www.xfce-look.org/p/1015171/
Not working but the GTK Warning disappeared

I had the same problem as you. I've tried reinstalling Steam and removing ~/.local/share/Steam, but I had no success.
Then I looked the console output closer and saw this:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
  what():  locale::facet::_S_create_c_locale name not valid

My problem was, I was using a non widely supported locale for the time (gsw_CH, Swiss German). After I changed it to C and logged out and on again, Steam started working again big_smile

Try changing your locale and see if this works.

I was on fr_FR in the locale system, I swap with en_US
