tty resolution

Hello,

I want to change my tty resolution. Currently it seems to use native resolution 1920 * 1080
I am using grub (legacy) and intel card.
However pretty much unreadable...

I changed the kernel parameter in grub, which changed the resolution until the login prompt.
Here the screen refreshes and switches back to the "high" resolution.

I do not have xorg installed so far (and probably not going to)

Currently I am little lost at what point I can make a permanent switch of the revolution.
I checked mkinitcpio, KMS but still.

Also I wonder what process takes over short before the login and start managing the resolution.

Update: Adding
MODULES=(... i915 ...) to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf removed the "refresh" before login.

How can I create a custom edid - or is that not necessary for supported resolutions?

Thanks on any help in advance

Re: tty resolution

Font size or fbset?

Mod note: Not an installation issue, moving to NC.

Re: tty resolution

Changing font size did it  - thanks @archimboldo.
(I tested fbset too, but was unable to make the fb changes fullscreen.)

Nevertheless if somebody can give some help on using edid would be great.

Re: tty resolution

This is a bit off topic, but if you are going to be working in the tty, you may be interested in fbterm or yaft for a framebuffer tty session with easier access to more colors and font settings.

Re: tty resolution

I had lots of artifacts due to auto usage of the std console font.
If somebody experiences the same issues - set fonts in .fbtermrc - eg
font-names=Ubuntu Mono, mono
does the job (assuming you have installed these font)
