canon maxify linux support

Hi guys.

I thought in this day and age that all printers would have linux support so I got a Canon Maxify MB5450, installed it and couldn't get it to work. It seems canon dropped linux support or something.
Anyone knows if there's a way to get it working? Maybe some open source drivers I have missed?

Kind regards,

Paulo Matos

They do have a driver, IJ Printer Driver Ver. 5.40 for Linux .

No need to use that though, gutenprint supports your printer.

Install gutenprint with pacman, then try re-adding the printer in cups webinterface.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
