[SOLVED] nvidia-beta xorg Hangs when running `xinit`

Running `xinit` causes the terminal to hang, with the cursor (caret?) not blinking. The computer I am using is an MSI-GF62 8RC, with a Nvidia GTX 1050 Mobile and an Intel core i5 8th gen.

I have installed `nvidia-beta` from the AUR and ran `nvidia-xconfig` (logs of what it produced can be found at the end)

Originally, running `lspci` would hang in a similar way, so I have started it from Grub with the option: 

modprobe.blacklist=nouveau

which worked. After I installed `nvidia-beta` it worked regardless of that boot option (I'm assuming this is because now nvidia was being used instead of nouveau and thus no need to blacklist it, however I don't know much about kernel drivers so it's only a guess).

Remove that xorg.conf,  then read the following for information on how to make use of your card, as you have an Optimus system which requires some more adjustments: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus also that .xinitrc is insufficient, ensure it correctly sets up your session, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xinit#xinitrc note the second blue box.
