Re: [SOLVED] Broken nvidia-dkms 410.78 with 4.19.2-zen kernel

The title "Broken nvidia-dkms 410.78 with 4.19.2-zen kernel" would imply nvidia-dkms 410.78 is installed but the the ignore list contradicts that.
Please post the full Xorg.log along with the output of `pacman -Qs nvidia` from the time the Xorg.log is produced.

The ignore list is the downgrade I did to get my system working again. Sorry, thought that was clear from the post.

[    27.731] (==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"

post the contents of that file and the output of the 2 commands below please .

$ ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
$ lscpi -k

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: [SOLVED] Broken nvidia-dkms 410.78 with 4.19.2-zen kernel

FWIW, all configs work fine with 410.73 but as soon as upgrade to 410.78 it doesn't boot gdm
Here's from /var/log/gdm

cat :0.log                                                                  

Re: [SOLVED] Broken nvidia-dkms 410.78 with 4.19.2-zen kernel

Are you using xfwm4 / xfce4 ?

Check https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1816559 .

Try booting to multi-user.target , configure ~/.xinitrc , then use startx from a console login as user.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

I am not using xfce or lightdm, but I seem to have fixed it by upgrading nvidia to 415 from testing
