startx fatal error - no screens found

Hey all,

I have searched the error and have found nothing useful.

I have a Nvidia card with nvidia-390xx driver installed.

The only error reported when running startx is fatal server error (EE) no screens found (EE).

I am posting this from my windows boot as i obviously cant run a WM to post the error.

Any help appreciated.

You can post the full Xorg log without needing X:  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … in_clients

Thank you. Where will the command post the information? And how do I retrieve it to post it?

I also restarted my computer and the screen went blank after booting arch Linux. I had to chroot into it via usb and remove the NVIDIA drivers for it to start up. Tried the NVIDIA (without 390xx) drivers. Same result. I’m at a loss.

command | curl -F c=@- https://ptpb.pw

The code pipes the output of command to curl that sends it to ptpb.pw the response will be the url of your paste which you can post here.
Xorg#General covers the locations for Xorg.log.
