I've always had trouble with sound on Archlinux. First i have a Dual Boot with Windows 10. A friend helped me to install everything and almost everything work.
I have no sound, with or without headphones.
I have tried for an hour to make it work, i uninstalled everything and tried again, it wont work.
I don't know where to search, so here's the output of alsa-info.sh to begin.
I have uninstall everything with "pulseaudio" in it, and Bluetooth - blueman - bluez, so I don't have any sound button and the "fn + F2" doesn't work anymore.

Just out of curiosity, did sound ever worked for you?

Yes it did. I think the last time I tried to connect my Bluetooth headphone, didnt work with the API, so i tried with bluetoothctl.
Then, some days later, it doesnt work. I always had problem with bluetooth, but that's not the point (i think) here.

Just a wild guess but you haven't provided much info. Can you make it work via pavucontrol?

Did you unmute the decices in the alsamixer?
Not only increase the volume on Master and PCM - you also have to unmute every channel with "m".
From the wiki: The MM label below a channel indicates that the channel is muted, and 00 indicates that it is open.

Check that for all your devices - switch through with TAB.

Nothing is muted, we see that from the alsa-info output. What are you trying to play back? What's the output of
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*during playback? FWIW try resetting your sound card registers
sudo alsactl initIf you've rebooted from Windows that can happen occasionally, ensure that Fast Boot is disabled in Windows.

So. Today I just boot on Linux first... And the sound worked... I don't know why and how.
I do not have Pulse Audio so i can't use PavuControl (i may install it now).
V1del, the first command is to know what is using the SoundCard I think? I was testing with Youtube on Firefox. I see firefox on every lines:
USER PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/snd/controlC0: #ME# 991 F.... firefox
/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: #ME# 991 F...m firefox
/dev/snd/timer: #ME# 991 f.... firefoxThe second command you gave is for resetting sound card?
It could be possible that Windows was the problem. I am sure that Fast Boot is disable, I could not write on the HDD if it was enable.
Sometime I have some problems like wifi disappear, and now it was the sound.
I will save your command for later uses, and you were on the right path (I think). Thanks for all answer on this topic, I will now try to close it.

If you reboot from Windows directly into linux, chances are that your UEFI doesn't properly reset sound card state and linux having issues in reinitializing sound card state. Running alsactl init should force that in case, or specifically running a cold boot directly into linux
