Speakers won't turn off with plugged in headset

Hey,
I'm kinda lost. Currently the speakers of my laptop always play Sound, even if i have a plugged in Headset. I can't figure out how to disable them.

 rmmod pcspkr

didn't help either. I've read some stuff up and i don't think the sensor from the audio jack is broken, using the kde widget "audio device switcher" seems to notice if my headset is plugged in or not.
If you could help me out, that be great. I wouldn't mind a solution, that would permanently disable the inbuilt speakers.

Re: Speakers won't turn off with plugged in headset

That's usually a feature of the driver, what are the outputs of

aplay -l
amixer -c$insert index of correct card from aplay -l$

Also pcspeakr is for the computer beep, and has no relation to your actual sound card, so unsurprisingly that didn't help.

Re: Speakers won't turn off with plugged in headset

Auto-Mute is enabled, Speaker is set to off, just from these outputs everything looks as it should. FWIW which kernel are you trying this on? That's a relatively newer codec and might not have some of the necessary wirings more modern kernels contain, if you are using e.g. the linux-lts kernel. FWIW what do you get for
