[Solved] Xorg freezes when I open a graphical tool

After my last system upgrade, Xorg, the display manager and the window manager load okay. I can open a xfce4-terminal with no issue. But the moment I open firefox, or gvim the interface freezes.

I get no feedback of anything I write unless I do a window switch, or I go into one of the text terminals (ctrl+alt+f2) and back. I have already tried reinstalling my video drivers, but nothing changes.

Is anyone else having this problem?

The drivers are xf86-video-amdgpu and xf86-video-ati.

The only errors I see are about vesa and fbdev, I didn't  have them installed. I installed them and the errors are gone, but the problem persists.

Please do not bump, just edit your last post if nobody has yet responded.

Try "amdgpu.dc=0" as kernel parameter, but there's also https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=242000 (nvidia, but also xfce compositor)
