I started experiencing browser crashes that only happen for a specific search term ("multisim"), regardless of browser (tried firefox, chrome and qutebrowser) and regardless of search engine.
Any time my search term includes the word "multisim" my browser crashes the moment I press enter.
I have no idea what might be causing this or how to debug the situation. Not that it's very intrusive but any help or ideas as to what might be happening here would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Works fine in qutebrowser. Qutebrowser, and the others, can produce crash logs...
Moving to NC.

Yeah I had no doubt that this would be specific to my machine, it seems a very niche issue and I had already tested it on a different machine sorry.
I suppose It doesn't actually crash as no crash logs are produced, so again, any help as to how I would go about finding out what causes this behavior would be appreciated.

Try setting up a new user and testing there. If that works, then look through your configs to determine what may be the issue. Remove half of them and try and replicate; rinse and repeat.

Was able to confirm that it doesn't happen on a new user but still no closer to figuring out what causes it so yeah wish me luck xd

Haha I figured out what was happening after seeing that the processes actually kept running. I had added a for_window command to my i3 config to move any window with title "multisim" to the scratchpad as this program run under wine was producing an empty, unclosable window with that title. I doubt anyone will ever encounter this issue but I'll mark it as solved anyways. Thanks for the help.

Fixed by adding
class="Wine"i.e.
for_window [title="multisim" class="Wine"] move scratchpadbtw if anyone does ever encounter this thread.
