Hello
kind of weird issue that I encounter now.
I typically use netctl to contect to my wifi at home. I had some troubles and had to reconfigure everything. I think I mess up trying networkmanager not succeeding.
Lately I could get netctl to work again but at startup, the networkmanager and wpa_supplicant services are activated and impair netctl to start correctly:
[root@TuxBox brice]# systemctl --type=service

LOAD = Reflects whether the unit definition was properly loaded.
ACTIVE = The high-level unit activation state, i.e. generalization of SUB.
SUB = The low-level unit activation state, values depend on unit type.
36 loaded units listed. Pass --all to see loaded but inactive units, too.
To show all installed unit files use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.I can stop networkmanager and wpa_supplicant and the start netctl correctly.
I disabled both and enable netctl but it did not work last startup.
[root@TuxBox brice]# systemctl disable NetworkManager
[root@TuxBox brice]# systemctl disable wpa_supplicant
[root@TuxBox brice]# systemctl enable netctl
Created symlink /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/netctl.service → /usr/lib/systemd/system/netctl.service.
[root@TuxBox brice]# Am I doing something worng?

Everything in your post except this is just as expected. So is this failure of netctl the problem you want help with? If so, you need to tell us about that.

I disabled NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant but at next restart they were active as if the disabling was not right. this is the issue not netctl so far.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood that. Please post the output of `find /etc/systemd/ -type f`

no issue.

following the other thread as well but so far still no solution..

NetworkManager is triggered by dbus-daemon
SOlution is here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … using_dbus

Nice catch. Another obvious solution would be to uninstall network manager.
