Hi all,
So I followed 'encrypting a home directory' and 'auto mounting' parts of this wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/EC … o-mounting
Here's the problem:
Say currently, I've logged out. From root login, I don't see ecryptfs mounted if I check output of mount command.
I login. Everything is fine, and who'll I'm logged in, I see that ecryptfs has mounted to my user home directory.
I logout. Here's the problem - in another shell as root, I still see the ecryptfs directory mounted to my home directory and I can browse the plaintext data as root.
I login again as my user - this time, immediately after I enter the password, I see the message
Signature not found in user keyring
Perhaps try the interactive 'ecryptfs-mount-private'
I logout. Now the ecryptfs is unmounted and encrypted if I see as root.
The cycle continues.
Not sure why on alternate logins, ecryptfs isn't umounting my home directory. Maybe that's why on subsequent login I get the keyring message.
Any help would be appreciated!

How do you login and log out? Did you note the warning on that page about the broken unmounting?

My arch setup doesn't have any desktop environment or window manager yet. I login on tty1 as my user and tty2 as root and logout using exit command.
It might as well be due to the bug mentioned in the warning!
Are there any workarounds that don't break other functionality?
