KDE crashes

Core is in thumbnail.so. I am not sure why this is so.

Did you recently update and have not rebooted yet?
This can knock out dlopen'd shared objects.

I have filed https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/1541 I observed that when I quit the game, the login screen shows up and goes away in a sec. It is probably the case that the crash of Dota 2 causes the kdeinit restart or kdeinit crash and auto restart.
