I have been looking through various man pages and archwiki entries but have been unable to figure out how to extend the window of time of which yay allows the input of a password with sudoer privileges. There are times when building large packages that a fair amount of time (30 min to 1 hr +) can go by, yet the window for password input is only a couple of minutes. I read a closed post from a couple of years back where it was suggested to add the following to /ect/suders:
Defaults timestamp_timeout=60
I am not a very big fan of this solution as I feel it makes my system less secure. Does anyone know of a way to make it so that the password prompt will not timeout and stay active until a password is entered?

'man sudoers'

See `man 5 sudoers` the passwd_timeout option.

That looks like it will do the trick. I must have missed it my searches and thanks for quick replies. For the record for anyone else searching for a fix for this issue, I solved my problem by adding the following to /etc/sudoers:
Defaults passwd_timeout=60
Whereas 60 minutes should be enough for my uses, I imagine that it can be set to an indefinite amount of time via 0.

I imagine that it can be set to an indefinite amount of time via -1.
You didn't read the passwd_timeout entry fully then.
In any case, please mark your thread as solved.
