Battery drained fast with xfce

Hi all. I am installing arch in various laptop in the last days and in one in particular, a netbook, tried both lxde and xfce keeping both and choosing one at login in lightdm.
I can't support it with data but i strongly feel my battery drains faster while i use xfce rather than lxde. Here are some informations from xfce sessione i hope could be any help.

Re: Battery drained fast with xfce

Is that a fluke in the `top` output, or is Xorg regularly using that much CPU?  Xorg's cpu use doesn't even register in top for me (it stays at 0%, and I have a pretty old/low-end CPU).  Is this value substantially different under LXDE?

Are you using a display manager, or why is Xorg running as root?

Re: Battery drained fast with xfce

I checked it. In xfce never goes under 3% and stay in a range of 3-5% with just the shell with top opened. In the same situation xorg in lxde uses from 0.3% to 3.1% of cpu.
I am using a display manager, lightdm

Re: Battery drained fast with xfce

With compositor disabled the cpu % usage does not pass 1% in idle. But if i just move the cursor it goes to 3 - 6.6 %. Don't know if it is normal

Re: Battery drained fast with xfce

No, you're using modesetting WITHOUT ANY acceleration.
You're rendering everything in software all the time which is why all rendering loads you CPU.

Re: Battery drained fast with xfce

No compositor means significantly less rendering overhead (redirection + alpha + eye candy), the effect should be about the same as w/ xfce w/o compositing.
Maybe there're also more animations in xfce.
