I am using uefi boot and a gpt partition table on my nvme ssd which I am booting arch off.
I wrote the command:
grub-mkconfig -o mnt/boot/grub/grub.cfgWhich is basically what it’s says on the wiki.
It outputs the error:
/usr/bin/grub-probe: error: failed to get canonical path of ‘airootfs’ .I know it has this error shown on the wiki but the answer makes no sense and wants me to run the command on the chroot ?
If i attempt to run the same command on the chroot I get the error:
bash: grub-mkconfig: command not foundI have checked on other websites and they say to run grub2-mkconfig which responds with the error:
zsh: command not found: grub2-mkconfig^ maybe the zsh has something to do with it?
This is the final step to getting arch Linux up and running so I would appreciate the help!

Did you actually install grub while in the chroot? Or pacstrap it?

I followed the guide on the wiki
U kno the grub-install command?
I did that in like the default mode. I did not type in chroot to install so I’m gonna guess I pacstraped it
I’ll try doing what u recommended
But all of the files except the configuration file are there
When I installed grub I installed it with this command:
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/mnt/boot --bootloader-id=GRUB --root-directory=/mntLast edited by hondamax100 (2019-01-01 19:56:42)

Reread the grub wiki page. You have to install the package. And there is no need to guess, you didn't.

But when I boot into the drive I put GRUB onto it shows up with the GRUB command interface
But it doesn’t boot?

What's probably happened is that you successfully used grub-install to install GRUB to the MBR since it can be installed from outside the chroot. But you also need the config file to get from the command interface to the menu options, and the config file needs to be made in chroot. So pacman -S grub inside the chroot and then grub-mkconfig should work inside it.

Bro thankyou so much I booted into the option GRUB and it asked if I wanted to boot into arch Linux. It loaded up the CLI and asked for a login and password. Thanks man. I did the Pac-Man think and it seemed to work
Now it’s time to install GNOME!
