I am unsure what else I should mention. I don't know why these python files are on my system. Could they be the result of a `make install`? I don't believe that I compiled python 3.7 from source, however.

They are either the result of running make or pip; neither of which is a good idea for this reason.

Remove them and complete the install.

The offending package is python-pillow, not python.  You may have installed it with pip.

Is there an easy way to remove pip and this package?

pip uninstall python-pillow does not work. Pip says that it is not installed.

Sorry for one last post...

Would this be an appropriate time to use pacman --force? I don't appear to have those files installed via pip... or make install. I have no idea where they have come from, and quite frankly, I could care less if pip breaks. I don't use it for anything.

No. Read my edit in #2 first. You need to establish how much cruft you have before you start --force installing (which is deprecated, by the way: read the man page).

Or, follow the wiki.  The page - no specific section - that I linked directly to for this exact problem.

If you expect to have any success with arch, you need to take a lot more initiative if not to find the proper documentation yourself, at very least to read it when it is handed directly to you.
