Editting Keymap on Gnome( Wayland)

Hello everybody,
I wish a happy new year for everybody.
I am spending many hours scanning the internet and I couldn't find out a way to do it.
I have a special (maybe, bad? sad ) keyboard that has no key for Pipe Symbol. Normally they are between the "Shift" and "Z" keys, but my keyboard simply doesn't have it.
What I need is to remap one of the variations to my "Z" key. I would like to make the combiannation of Alt gr + Z = Pipe Symbol (bar)
As I am using wayland, I see that setxkbmap command doesn't work. Maybe it is supposed to work with Xorg. Same thing for xmodmap.
I tried to have a look at files under /usr/share/X11/xkb/, but it seems that none of those files are matching the keymap that I am using.

For my "Z" key, the sequence is:
(only z, shift + z, alt gr + z, shift + alt gr + z)

z Z « <

I didn't see anything in /usr/share/X11/xkb/ matching this pattern, thus it seems those configurations are not being taken into account.

I also tried to set all Brazillian layouts on gnome settings (even the ones enabled by gsettings) and none of then seemed to work.

Does anybody know how to proceed?

Thanks.

Re: Editting Keymap on Gnome( Wayland)

I could manage to do so following this guide: https://www.beatworm.co.uk/blog/keyboar … ayland-xkb

But I would really like to have more suggestions from you if there is an easier way

Thanks.
