[Solved] Pacman Question, ArchUSB install and Local Hard Drive Install

Hello all,

Hope everyone had  a happy new year.

I see that according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … _USB_stick

I can write packages to a cd or usb drive for offline/ no network access computers.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish:

Computer 1 - Arch Linux installed on local SSD and Hard Drive is /home

Computer 2 - Actually Arch Linux installed on a Sandisk 64GB flash drive.

Can I use something like this: CacheDir     = /run/media/robert/c396b704-0051-4482-a483-d9accb1a61e5/var/cache/pacman/pkg
on the usb drive, so pacman will look to the local SSD install for updates, and avoid re-downloading the packages. This way I can also prevent pacman from writing packages to the USB Drive.

Feel like there is something I'm missing reading that post.

Thanks in advance,
HaloSlayer255

There's a wiki entry for installing packages offline.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/of … f_packages

Thanks for the reply Jclifton44,

That worked out great, must have lost that page from using the wrong search terms.

Thanks again,
