There is Beta1 out by now : ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/f … 0b1/source , but for me compilation failed at the same point as beta3, I think ![]()

Hm, I have try the PKGBUILD from AUR, no Problems
Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

That PKGBUILD uses the official mozilla.org build, not the source ![]()

xfrun4 was d-bus-ized a few days ago. which revision of xfce-utils you have?
Okay, I had the one from beta2, and updated just now.
It seems that it doesn't start the daemon, so it is not working at all.
try running
xfrun4 --daemonin a terminal, and then open the run dialog. It should work now, so if this is the case I suggest you put xfrun4 --daemon somewhere at xfce start.

You're a genius!!! Thanks a lot. I don't really understand what means that it uses dbus now, but it works. ![]()

I just upgraded and have lost the Xfce's built in compositing manager...I used it to handle my transparency and it appears to be disabled now. No config changes...any suggestions?
--==EDIT==--
Never mind...they added an option to toggle it on and off in the Window Manager Tweaks section of the Settings. Seems to be working fine now.

No it's not. That's just a changelog for what is going to be in 2.3.11.

Hi
Just installed xfce-svn. The fonts seem to be huge and I am unable to change them from the User Interface preferences. I launched xfrun4 --daemon in a terminal and then later tried to make changes to the theme, I keep gettng these errors:
(xfrun4:4988): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "xfce",
in the same terminal.
Could someone please let me know what seems to be the problem?
Thanks in advance

my guess would be either you still have gtk 2.8 installed and the xfce theme is built against 2.10 or the other way round.

Hi
Thanks a lot, I now have 2.10 and XFCE works perfectly. This is an old Sony Vaio PCG-XE17 (Pentium III 256 MB ram). Arch and Ubuntu both work like a charm on this laptop.

xgl-related stuff was removed (or stopped being updated) a while ago.

IIRC there's XGL stuff in the AUR though. And you can also try Xorg 7.1, which has AIGLX, unless you're using a nVidia card. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any PKGBUILDs around for compiz-aiglx...

i havent been in the loop on XGL in a while, but if its not here, and not in the repo that is listed on the wiki, where is a repo that one could take it from?
Offline
The AUR. You have to compile the stuff yourself.

May I suggest that the gaim-svn in the repo be compiled with:
--enable-gnutls=yes
because this seems to fix the very common problem of authentication error with google talk (although I am not certain if it is gnutls-devel that should be on the system, instead of gnutls).
I got this info from the last comment here:

Shadowhand: it looks like you copied the depends from thunar-media-tags-plugin-svn to the thunar-archive-plugin-svn PKGBUILD, since your archive-plugin package depends on taglib ![]()
taglib is not needed for that plugin, though ![]()
also the _svntrunk is wrong in that PKGBUILD. the correct is
_svntrunk=http://svn.xfce.org/svn/goodies/thunar-archive-plugin/trunk

My menu will no longer appear with the latest SVN version. I know that all of my mouse buttons are working properly, but right-clicking on the desktop does nothing at all. I tried removing the
~/.config/xfce4
directory completely and loading up xfce with all the defaults and it still didn't work. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem and solved by downgrading to the old version of xfdesktop.

Same here.

Tried downgrading to the last two versions of xfdesktop before the latest one and no difference, I still have no menu. When I copied my old config directory back, I made a mistake and now all my configs are gone...DOH!!! :oops:

Okay, some progress. If you downgrade packages, by default the settings have changed so Xfce isn't managing the desktop. If you have a panel, add the Xfce Menu, go to
Settings -> Desktop Settings
and then click the box to Allow Xfce to manage the desktop. From there you should have the right-click menu again. Hopefully this won't happen with every new upgrade. I'll post if I find any more issues.
