unset "Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS:" is not work.

I use the lasted openjdk 8 and I found when I build a project in any IDE (idea, eclipse) or javac even command"java --version", the "Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS:" always appear.

I found this wiki
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ja … mand_line/
I do that it looks like is work in this session but the next session the word is still print.

so I add "unset _JAVA_OPTIONS" in the /etc/profile and "/etc/environment" and reboot.
Unfortunately it is not work.

Re: unset "Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS:" is not work.

Why would you want to harm yourself by hiding such an important information?

Still, if you want to cause problems to your future self, something is missing from the picture. Why are you adding `unset _JAVA_OPTIONS` in either “/etc/profile” or “/etc/environment”, which not only are system-wide scripts, but by default they never even set `_JAVA_OPTIONS`? The code mentioned on the Wiki is meant to patch existing environment, not magically manipulate future. So you have to apply that after you set `_JAVA_OPTIONS`.

Also note that the method refers to removing that message while calling `java` from your shell. That do not affect how other tools are calling `java`. And since many tools will use full, absolute path to the `java` executable, I see no elegant and convenient way to changing the behaviour with overlays using `PATH`. Arch has “/usr/bin/java” that is a symlink to “/usr/lib/jvm/default-runtime/bin/java”, which is selected by archlinux-java by symlinking “/usr/lib/jvm/default-runtime” to one of the available implementations. So in theory you could provide your own implementation with its java doing what is described in the Wiki. The problem is that while elegant, this is far from being convenient, because the need to keep it in sync with official releases.

A side note: the URL you have given has an extra ‘/’ at the end, making it pointing to a nonexistent fragment. If you have copied that from your browser’s address bar, it may indicate a bug in your browser — perhaps worth of reporting to the authors, if you can reproduce the issue.
