I know that the process of installing arch...for the most part is simple to the experienced user, but there seems to be a lack of options on the installation guide for setting up wifi, as well as setting up the disk partitions themselves. So I just wanted to add some input on some two options that could be added in the installation guide and that come with the live boot of Arch, and are extremely easy to use for the average nub like me:
cfdisk
wifi-menu
nano (for editing files)

If you are talking about the Installation Guide, the appropriate action is to open a discussion on the Talk page. If you are wanting additional tools added to the ISO, then a feature request on the bug tracker.
If the former, FWIW, there is already sufficient information on the wiki regarding wifi and cfdisk and nano is really self-explanantory (the commands are all at the bottom of the screen, if you can't work that out, god help you with the actual install). If the latter, good luck: Arch is not about prioritising "extremely easy to use" over actual efficiency.
Not an Installation issue, moving to NC.

What.
All three are definitely on the ISO.
The installation guide links to the network configuration tools available on the ISO here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … k_managers (netctl is the primary such tool)
The installation guide states, as one of the very first things, "To edit configuration files, nano, vi and vim are available."
The installation guide links to fdisk for partitioning the disk, and one of the first things on the fdisk wiki page is: "Tip: For basic partitioning functionality with a text user interface, cfdisk(8) can be used."
BTW I debate the practical usefulness of cfdisk at all, but whatever.

Though it would be funnier to remove nano and
Will now open your pacman.conf in vi…![]()

This was just to inform folks that the tools exist in the ISO, for ease of use. ./shrug

Oh no, we totally understood that that was what you were doing. The entire response to this thread has been us asserting that the Installation Guide already informs folks of that exact fact.

That bug (which I have closed with prejudice) is about removing it from base. If we removed it from base, we would have to explicitly re-add it to the ISO.
