Can i just deactivate LVM ?

Dear,

I would to ask about LVM services. I actually have two SSD and a dualboot (linux & w10) on my pc. When i sew time which lvm2-monitor.sevice take (9xx ms), i just would to know if it is safe to deactivate LVM or not ? And how to do it ?

One thing, on mkinitcpio hooks, there is no lvm.

I have masked  lvm2-monitor.service without issue on this system which does not use lvm.

Masking it, changes something on boot process ? The service starts anyway, i suppose.

This shouldn't be happening. Here is the documentation from "man systemctl" explaining how mask works:

mask UNIT...
    Mask one or more units, as specified on the command line. This will link these unit
    files to /dev/null, making it impossible to start them. This is a stronger version of
    disable, since it prohibits all kinds of activation of the unit, including enablement
    and manual activation. Use this option with care. This honors the --runtime option to
    only mask temporarily until the next reboot of the system. The --now option may be
    used to ensure that the units are also stopped. This command expects valid unit names
    only, it does not accept unit file paths.

When i masked it, desktop did not display.
