I have recently bought the Thinkpad E580 and it is fitted with a Radeon RX 550 GPU.
When invoking lspci, it yields:

for the integrated graphics.
What I concluded from this:
The correct driver for my GPU is loaded but it is strangely not listed as a
VGA device. Also as the screen is tearing like crazy and it sure
seems like I'm not using the dedicated GPU at all. Would there be a
better way of making sure I'm not using it?
Is it possible that is has no display connector, even though it resides
in a laptop?
Also, when adding the Section "Device" config file for the amdgpu driver
to my xorg.conf.d LightDM will not start and neither will X.
I will also attach the logs from journalctl. Around line 1100 it says
"number of connectors is zero!". I could not find a matching report of
this problem from anybody else within a good hour of googling.
Also I'm all out of ideas.
This is the output of journalctl. Also these are all the things I could
think of right now, I will happily provide any additional information.
Also I've had my share of linux related problems to solve, but I would
not consider myself experienced at all, please be forgiving in this regard.
Thank you in advance.

Now I even read that section and just assumed it wasnt relevant for me.
Makes me feel kind of stupid.
I will mark this as solved or return once I have tried that.

I will now mark this as solved.
All the screen tearing is gone, although it had nothing to do with the issue I thought I had.
When using xrandr I noticed the integrated graphics had weird identifiers and
werent listed as "intel". Installing the proper intel drivers solved all my problems.
