[Solved] Soundconverter issue

Hi,

I get the following error when converting from flac to mp3 on soundconverter:

gst-resource-error-quark: Unable to open source to write

I've searched the internet but came up empty. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Alexander

Does your user have write rights on the target directory?

Yes, the user has rights. But it is an permission issue. I just changed the directory and it worked. I'll have to look in to it some further.

Re: [Solved] Soundconverter issue

Other things of relevance might be execution perms  at least on directories otherwise it might  not be able to travel down, depending on your export path setting. Might also be file system specific, not entirely sure how that would be reported back to the gst pipeline, but you could get a permission denied if you attempted to create a filename with invalid characters onto a FAT/NTFS partition or similar.

However if the original issue is [SOLVED] please mark it as such by editing the title in your initial pos: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_to_post

Re: [Solved] Soundconverter issue

The directory was owned by myself as was the group. Yet, I had to set the group to writable as well.
