What do I do with gummiboot package already installed?

I recently started utilizing the yay AUR helper and after running yay -Ps found that gummiboot is no longer in the AUR yet it is installed in my system.

1) I am not certain which bootloader that I am using but I believe it to be gummiboot since that is what is located in /boot/EFI/gummiboot.  Am I correct in this assumption?

2) Since gummiboot is now handled by Systemd, can I (or should I ) safely remove the gummiboot package from my system?

Thank you

1) Just the pure presence of that path doesn't make any statement over whether that's what you're actively using, you could check with efibootmgr which boot loaders are actually registered and which one of them is used by default.

2) I'd remove it properly (I only used it after the systemd merger, if gummiboot has a helper utility to remove itself like bootctl remove use that) uninstall the package then install current systemd-boot with bootctl.
