I have used this laptop with various configurations using optimus before. With none of them I managed to drive the InFocus projectors I have to use at work (neither through a miniDP->VGA nor through HDMI). Two weeks ago I switched the BIOS to discrete graphics only and installed the proprietary driver. Since then the laptop sometimes consumes enormous amounts of battery power during sleep, but not always. One example: I put the laptop to sleep with a full battery yesterday at 2:30pm and resumed it this morning at 8:30am. Battery power was down to 21% and the laptop was warm.
