Auto detecting monitors

Hi,

I am running arch + xmonad + xmobar.
Every time I connect my monitor I have to run the following command :

 $ intel-virtual-output

open arandr and activate the monitor and position it and apply the settings.

Is there a way software or script that automate this for me?
Also when I disconnect, I have to press mod + q for my xmobar to come back on to my laptop's screen.

I looked at srandrd but I am not sure about its usage.

Re: Auto detecting monitors

arandr is just a graphical front-end to xrandr.  Use xrandr.  If need be, use arandr to generate the command, it will give the xrandr command as output.

yes but still I need to something that gracefully handles the hdmi connecting and disconnecting process.
Sometimes when I disconnect and reconnect I have it doesn't work as expected I have to run

 $ intel-virtual-output

multiple times for it work.
I have generated the the xrandr script from arandr.
