My experience comes from using Ubuntu for years. I'm trying to do what I have done forever but now in Arch Linux but having problems.
I have a fresh install and installed xorg-server, Intel video drivers and xfce4. I can get the desktop up and running by booting up, logging in, and startx.
I thought about having the system boot up to a login screen which in Ubuntu would require lightdm. So I installed lightdm and the default greeter, but on reboot the monitor went to the screen that says no input detected. My monitor is a Samsung UHD 4K TV and my PC is a NUC capable of 1080P. my xorg.conf only has:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "TearFree" "true"
EndSection
This should be basic setup, but I'm missing something.

Can you post your lightdm config, as well as
journalctl -u lightdm(within [ code ] tags) Did you already check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … TTY_output

oops! I forgot to edit lightdm.conf and specify the session greeter. That fixed it.
