Hi all,
Just noticed upgrading these two packages result in mpv is no longer able to provide smooth video playback, vlc does not seem to be affected.
[2019-02-08 09:11] [ALPM] upgraded mesa (18.3.3-1 -> 18.3.3-2)
[2019-02-08 09:11] [ALPM] upgraded mesa-vdpau (18.3.3-1 -> 18.3.3-2)
Also, I'm seeing some weird stuff in KDE Plasma as well, some animations seem choppy and the whole desktop seems to lag somewhat.
Mpv is using the vaapi backend, the Plasma compositor settings are on default.
I'm not seeing any weird messages in the kernel debug log or in the journal.
Anybody else seeing similar results?
EDIT: disabling the following option in ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf gave me smooth video playback from mpv again, but it seems weird I have to disable this option now:
profile=gpu-hqEDIT2: downgrading the two mesa packages to their previous version didn't help...so I basically have no clue where this is coming from all of the sudden. Everything was silky smooth last night and I don't seen any other relevant packages in pacman.log

Okay, changing
vo=gputo
vo=vaapibrought back the usual mpv performance. No idea why I had to do this now.
