Re: August 2006 Screenshots

Would you share the OB theme, please. Also, do we need a specially patched OB to get window borders like that or should the theme work with the latest cvs?

This has to be Open Box and it looks so simple and clean, and a great background make this screenshot awesome. Keep up the good work, I would have asked to give the link to the wallpaper but it won't fit with gentoo.  lol

Tango icons (for Fireferret too, woot!), Rezlooks-graphite GTK theme, Graphite Openbox theme, HandelGotD font, background by Greg Martin.

If you're wondering why the fonts look different, it's because I have the autohinter on. I don't know what the default setting for hinting is, but I can tell you that HandelGotD looks a lot better with it, and the free fonts look about the same. The MS fonts, on the other hand, don't look so great, and the web fonts look horrendous.

(The difference in font size between Terminal and Firefox is due to Firefox's using XFT instead of Pango; I've yet to figure out how to make GTK stop using Pango. Not that it matters for GTK, the redraws can't even be seen since the upgrade to 2.10.)

The theme is available here: http://people.os-zen.net/rezza/Candybox.ob3.tar.gz

You will need to apply the client padding patch to get it to work properly: http://people.os-zen.net/rezza/client_padding.patch

Also make sure keepborder is set to no in your rc.xml, otherwise things will look very odd...

It's a part of the gtk-theme.

Does anyone have a process pipe menu for openbox that allows you to kill misbehaving apps? Send me a PM please.

It looks like he is not running Nautilus (which is responsible for the root menu in Gnome). He could just be running openbox with gnome-panel.
