[SOLVED] can not expand the secondary screen to the left

I'm using command

 xrandr --output HDMI1 --left-of eDP1

to configure it.But it failed

X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request:  140 (RANDR)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  21 (RRSetCrtcConfig)
  Serial number of failed request:  37
  Current serial number in output stream:  37

It worked once but I don't know what I've done with it. It still not working now after reboot.

It can only be set to --right-of or --below

it SOLVED the problem
